Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is Modular Ummah?

Modular Ummah is a strategic think tank and framework builder dedicated to strengthening Muslim community work. We design ethical, values-driven systems that help leaders, volunteers, and organisations serve with clarity, professionalism, and spiritual integrity.

How is Modular Ummah different from a consultancy or incubator?

We are neither.
Modular Ummah is a stewardship house, not a service provider, not a top-down adviser.
We create frameworks, ethics, and structures, not commercial services or short-term fixes. Our aim is to safeguard trust, avoid burnout, and uplift community work through shared standards rooted in Islamic values.

How does Modular Ummah work with Silsilah Connect?

Modular Ummah develops the ethical compass, the frameworks, safeguards, governance tools, and leadership standards.
Silsilah Connect brings these principles to life by delivering projects, onboarding volunteers, and supporting organisations on the ground.
You can work with Modular Ummah alone, or with both parts of the ecosystem depending on your needs.

Who is Modular Ummah for?

We support:

  • Community organisations and masājid
  • Volunteer teams and project leads
    Scholars, advisors, and practitioners
  • Youth workers, charity leaders, and educators
  • Anyone seeking values-driven clarity for community service

If your work serves the Ummah, our frameworks were built with you.

What kind of frameworks do you create?

Our work covers a wide range of ethical and organisational needs, including:

* Fi Sabīlillāh Contract: safeguarding and volunteer-care ethics
* Mithāq al-Amānah: leadership integrity and decision-making standards
* Sīyāsat al-Iḥsān: organisational excellence and culture
* Financial transparency for Zakat & Sadaqah
* Women’s access, voice, and safety in community spaces

New frameworks are released regularly, each co-designed with scholars, practitioners, and field experts.

How can I contribute or collaborate?

Modular Ummah is built with the community, not for it. You can contribute by:

  • Advising on ethics, theology, safeguarding, or governance
  • Reviewing emerging modules and tools
  • Piloting frameworks within your organisation
  • Sharing insight from your field or lived experience

Your input strengthens the ecosystem.

Do you work with organisations directly?

Yes. We collaborate with organisations that want to embed ethical clarity, strengthen culture, or align their work with Islamic values.
For practical delivery, staffing, or project implementation, we collaborate closely with Silsilah Connect.

Is there a cost to access Modular Ummah’s frameworks?

Our goal is to keep ethical guidance accessible. Many of our frameworks are free and publicly available, with more resources currently in development. Certain deeper collaborations or pilots may be arranged on a case-by-case basis.

How do I stay updated on new frameworks and releases?

You can:

  • Visit our website and Facebook page regularly
  • Follow our publication updates
  • Engage with Silsilah Connect for practical rollout news
